Good Ideas Ltd were commissioned to develop a new, optional unit for NCVO’s quality standard, Trusted Charity. During development this new unit became known as Trusted Partner.
The team at Good Ideas Ltd took an iterative approach to research and develop the contents of the new unit – working closely with a range of stakeholders from the sector, especially those who were very experienced in partnership work.
The team conducted a range of activities including
- Semi-structured interviews
- Seeking feedback on a first prototype
- Running workshops around the UK both face to face and on line – engaging stakeholder to review the prototype and to help co-produce the next version.
- Facilitating field trials with a representative sample of organisations – all of whom reached the required standard.
"Good Ideas Ltd. were selected for their extensive working knowledge of the Trusted Charity quality standard – they were able to draw upon a wide network of contacts to contribute toward development of each prototype and participate in field trials. Good Ideas Ltd delivered a high-quality product that has been developed by the sector, for the sector, with input from funders and commissioners. This framework for partnership working will be of huge benefit to the voluntary sector."
Nick Snow, Trusted Charity Programme Manager, NCVO
Feedback from commissioners, funders and participants indicated that this work was very worthwhile and very timely, given the growing importance of good partnership work. Little did we realise how the COVID pandemic would highlight the importance of good partnership work more than ever before!
