Good Ideas Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (number Z1837387). We take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting your personal information.
We aim to be clear and open about our data and security practices. Where we ask you to provide us with any information by which you can be identified, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement, and in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018.
What information do we collect about you?
- We collect basic contact information from customers, associates and sub-contractors and other stakeholders on projects, so that we can deliver our training and consultancy services.
- We collect information about you when you complete an online form to:
- Sign up for email updates
- Contact us
- Register for a learning account with the Good Ideas Institute or update your account details
- Place orders for free or paid products or services including ‘demo’ courses on our learning platform
- Apply for membership of the Good Ideas Institute
- Complete surveys, collaborate with us on research projects or contribute to the field trials of our learning programmes
- This information may include
- Name, role and organisation
- Contact details including email address
- Demographic information such as postcode and interests
- We collect material that you proactively post or contribute to our sites and any correspondence you have with us.
- When you contact us by email, letter or on the phone, we may also record this information on our customer relationship management (CRM) system to help us process your request efficiently.
- We collect information about the products and services you purchase from us, which is stored on our CRM system.
- Data is collected if you visit the Good Ideas website using Google Analytics.
- Data is collected if you visit our social media pages, including Facebook and Twitter.
- Good Ideas Ltd uses other organisations to process data, such as anewspring, Mailchimp, Dropbox or Eventbrite, that comply with relevant data protection law.
- When carrying out our work any request for information, e.g. research interviews, will be preceded with information about what they interview is for and what we will do with the data.
How is your information stored?
- Data is stored on a passworded database.
- Good Ideas Ltd uses other organisations to process data, such as anewspring, Mailchimp, Dropbox or Eventbrite, that comply with relevant data protection law.
How do we use your information?
- We collect information about you to manage your account, process your order or fulfil any contract we have with you.
- If you have purchased a product or service from Good Ideas Ltd or have opted-in to hear about our products and services, we will send your information which may be of interest to you. You can unsubscribe from our emails or other marketing information at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe line within them or by emailing hello@goodideas.institute.
Sharing your information with others
- Good Ideas Ltd will not sell your information to any third party.
- Information already in the public domain, e.g. names, job titles, emails etc. may be passed on to support organisations in their work.
- Information not already in the public domain will only be passed on with permission where there is not legitimate interest.
- We may share your information with third parties where we have a legal duty to do so or to provide you with a service you have asked for. For example, passing your details to a particular trainer who is contracted to deliver a training event you wish to attend.
We have contracts in place with all third party suppliers to ensure they are obligated to treat our customers’ personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018.
Access to your information
You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, you can:

We will not charge you for this service unless the request is ‘manifestly unfounded or excessive or repetitive’.
How long do we keep your information?
- We only keep your information for so long as it is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, which in most circumstances would be for so long as you have a valid business agreement with us.
- We are obliged to keep financial records for 7 years, which will include details of your purchases.
- Once we have completed the service requested and contracted by you, we will ask you if we can stay in touch. At that point, if you prefer that we remove you from our CRM system, we will delete your contact details.
Policy Review
This policy is reviewed annually or more frequently in response to changes in internal needs, legislative requirements or recognised good practice.
